 Irv Gotti, the influential music executive and co-founder of Murder Inc. Records, passed away on February 5, 2025, at the age of 54. Born Irving Domingo Lorenzo Jr. on June 26, 1970, in the Hollis neighborhood of Queens, New York City, Gotti was instrumental in shaping the hip-hop and R&B landscape of the late 1990s and early 2000s.   Gotti began his career in the music industry as a producer and A&R executive at Def Jam Recordings, where he played a pivotal role in signing and producing for artists such as DMX and Jay-Z.
