DDG Addresses Custody Struggles, Recalls Blueface’s Past Warning

DDG recently spoke out about his ongoing custody battle with Halle Bailey, claiming she is preventing him from seeing their son. Reflecting on the situation, he pointed to a 2021 conversation with Blueface, in which the rapper seemingly predicted the challenges he’s now facing.

During a recent livestream, DDG acknowledged how eerily accurate Blueface’s words were. "He kind of saw this coming," DDG said. "Even though we come from different backgrounds, we’ve both been through struggles, we both have kids, and now I find myself in a similar situation to what he described. I could’ve done things differently—gotten married first, done it the ‘right’ way—but unfortunately, it didn’t work out that way."

The conversation in question took place during a 2021 stream, where DDG expressed that he never intended to have a child outside of marriage. Blueface responded by warning that children can sometimes complicate relationships.

"It always starts like that," Blueface said. "Sometimes, having a kid changes everything—she might start using the baby as leverage, keeping tabs on you, making things more difficult. And that can be stressful, man. Women can be petty like that."

DDG and Bailey publicly confirmed their relationship in 2022 and welcomed their son, Halo, in December 2023. However, after nearly three years together, they announced their breakup in October of last year, initially expressing plans to co-parent.

Last week, DDG posted a vlog where he claimed he was being unfairly restricted from seeing his son. "I just want to be in my child's life," he said. "I don’t care how this looks—I just want the right to see my son whenever I want."

Feeling sidelined as a parent, he added, "I’m not worried about being around other women; I just want time with my son. But since that’s not happening, I’m focusing on my work instead of sitting around feeling sorry for myself."

In response to the situation, DDG has released a song titled "Don’t Take My Son," produced by Cash Cobain. The track reflects his frustration, with lyrics that include: "Don’t take my son because he’s all I got / I’m just having fun, I don’t love these thots."
